Why it is the rainy season

Well, we have had more rain in the last few days than the previous 3 weeks. BIG down pours, enough to fill up almost all the tanks. The rain comes in waves, and it seems most of the long storms are at night. A bucket outside the house has about 4-6" in it. Then the sun comes out, we go to the beach, town or whatever

I was taking to Rudy, one of the taxi drivers, about rain...  and he just said, "Yuh, it's all about what happens in the Sahara". That is mostly true, as any tropical storm or hurricane is also related to the weather in the Sahara.

Here is an image of the way it all works. We are pretty close to the green arrow, the read arrow shows how the weather pattern is influenced by Africa.
