The STORM ---
We were sitting in the campsite enjoying the views when dark clouds began to develop. We watched from our camp chairs while the dark clouds started to approach and we could see rain coming from the clouds.
Dark clouds developing
Rain starting over the mountains
Moving closer and thundering
Full blown downpour just outside of camp.. Heading for the new RV (our Chevy Suburban)
Holy expletive! The wind is blowing around 50MPH and the rain is coming sideways. Alicia says "I'm actually a little bit scared."
Then the tent is blown over!
I jumped out of the Suburban and immediately disassembled the tent and tried to make sure that it didn't get blown away. It looked like it might get wet.
We stayed in the truck and hunkered down and waited for the calm that arrived in about 30 minutes. A very powerful front that brought in cooler weather.
What the tent looked like after the storm stopped.
Semi-wet bed and things
Getting rid of the puddles.
The new, dry bed linens and things --- lucky we had extra stuff.
Later on --- the laundry
A few more pictures of the storm
