The Zoo

It's been a long time since we have been to the National Zoo. Back then, the pandas had just been introduced. Although it is not recognized as one of the top 10 Zoos in the US anymore, it is still a treat.

So we went to the Zoo ...

The big cats and elephants were the most interesting, but the main thing was trying to take a picture that didn't look like the animal was in a zoo. We wanted our African Safari friends (Bev and Mike, you know who you are!) to think we were on Safari. That was very difficult with the elephants as they were in a very large fenced in area.

Anyways ...

Cheetahs ... no they are not dead ... they are just resting in the heat of the day ...

 

Their food ... Gazelles ... (in the wild, not at the Zoo)
